Amr Orensa
A botanist by education, a passionate photographer and traveler, and a businessman, Amr Orensa is the design manager at Pinocchio, one of the foremost furniture manufacturers in Egypt. In 2016, Amr started Designdustry as an initiative that aims at bringing furniture designers and manufacturers together to exchange knowledge and expertise and boost Egypt’s furniture industry.
This talk discussed ancient Egyptian woodworking, highlighting the evolution of materials, tools, and design techniques. The aim was to learn how these innovations have influenced modern woodworking trends and for participants to have the unique opportunity to experience ancient Egyptian woodworking tools hands-on.
