Towards an Integrated Mobility System: Navigating the Future of Greater Cairo’s Mobility Systems

In the face of rapid urbanization, Cairo is confronting significant mobility challenges, including increased car dependency, pollution, inadequate infrastructure, traffic congestion, and limited accessibility.
This talk aims to provide valuable insights into Cairo’s current mobility landscape, including existing systems and ongoing mega projects, and their implications for future urban transportation. This talk will explore the concept of sustainable urban mobility and investigate how integrated mobility systems can offer comprehensive solutions to tackle the challenges Cairo’s mobility system is facing.
Mobility as a Service (MaaS) will be discussed as a reference approach to illustrate how digital integration of mobility services can enhance user experience and potentially promote a shift towards more sustainable mobility in developing cities.
