As part of the Creative Cities: Reframing Downtown conference, CLUSTER presented six Downtown Tours. The tours aim to reveal alternative narratives of Downtown. The tours explored sites featured in Egyptian cinema and literature over the decades, visited Modernist architecture icons designed by pioneering Egyptian architects, last surviving or dying photo studios, and offered the experience of Downtown through its passageways and back alleys, and on bicycles. The tours both complemented and grounded the discussions in everyday experience, while offering new ways to re-imagine Downtown.
